Okay, we have all seen Made of Honor with Patrick Dempsey*, but does that really happen? Do ladies and gents really pick friends of the opposite sex to play a part in their bridal parties?

Unity candles are great. I have seen tons of couples use them, and I had one in my own wedding ceremony. If you aren't familiar with the idea, it goes a little something like this: after the vows have been recited and the rings exchanged, the bride and groom approach the altar or a little table where three candles are set up. They each take one (that has already been lit and placed on either side of a larger one), and they light the center candle together, signifying their new union. Two become one...collective sigh and tear wiping ensues...
