Coordinating the San Francisco Bay Area and Beyond!
I don't know about you, but I am a HUGE fan of sweets, particularly baked goods and CANDY! Candy buffets are a great idea for a little something extra at your wedding. Here are some photos of candy buffets that I just love. I hope they offer you some inspiration if you decide to create one of your own:

Every time I attend or coordinate a wedding with a candy buffet, I notice that guests can barely contain themselves as they wait in line to attack the sweets laid out before them. Whether you prefer chocolate or straight sugar or both, this is a great opportunity to express yourself and your style. Get creative and make your candy buffet your own!
That being said, here are some basic guidelines so that you can do it yourself:
- Plan for 1/4 to 1/2 a pound of candy per guest. I know, it seems like a lot, but trust me. People will want to bring some home.
- Provide extra cute containers (boxes/bags) and use them as favors as well! Have you ever heard of two birds and one stone?
- Buy your candy in bulk to save some extra cash! There are lots of vendors online that you can choose from. Here is one I like: A Candy Store. Here are a couple of candy ideas I like as well: If you have a few extra dollars to spend, personalized M&M's are a fun idea, as are Nestle candy bars with personalized wrappers. I like multicolored gummy candies myself...tiny little watermelon slices and peaches and bears. Mmmmmm...
- Also, check out thrift stores or Ebay and get creative with your containers. Different sizes and heights are eye catching (take another look at the photos above). Don't forget scoopers either - nice big ones!
- You will also need an extra table to hold the items and a linen for it, and any other fun decor you might like to add. For the frugal bride: this is a great place to recycle flowers or petals from your ceremony...
- Finally, having someone to coordinate the set-up of the candy buffet is very important. If you don't have a wedding coordinator, make sure to have someone you trust put it together. There really is a lot involved in the set up. (On a side note, some coordinators rent the buffet items: jars, scoopers, etc..., so be sure to ask!)
Most importantly, have fun and don't forget to save a little candy for yourself!
Candies.....
Hi Kristeen!
Well, there are very rare people who keep a special candy buffet, but this is a great idea to work on; and specially for wedding planners. It seems to be a different idea and I think we can suggest to our clients about this..
